At the most harrowing time of the passing of my mother I found Grahams most respectful and very understanding to our grief and worked very hard to ensure the most awful time of our lives went as smooth and respectful as possible. They worked with the family and ensured we could do what was important to us as a family to lay our dear mum to rest.
On behalf of my family and myself I give only 2 stars. 1. Upon collection of our loved one we asked, but were NOT told of the cost involved of dressing our loved one in preparation for any viewing at the funeral home and her final journey. Upon our enquiry about this, we were given a cost which we found quite offensive during this very sensitive time. 2. Again, upon collection from our home, we asked if we were able to walk behind the herse at the crematorium as we believe the body should not make their final journey alone, we were all told that we could but there was absolutely NO mention of any cost involved untill we rang to enquire about the time and day of her cremation. We were told this would cost us $1000 which we all found very offensive. After some discussion with Grahams about this they waved that cost, which we were thankful for, but were still left feeling that they were quite insensitive and quite offended by the feeling that they were out to make as much money as possible from the death or our loved one. By comparison, my wife and I went with another funeral home to bury her father last year and were not charged a cent to go in and dress him or collect him from the funeral home for his final journey north from Auckland. We advise asking about hidden costs and/or shopping around before considering Grahams funeral services.
DECEMBER 2023 Attended a funeral for a family member whose service was held in a local Waiuku church. The funeral director worked seamlessly between the church celebrant and the deceaseds family members. Graham's Funeral Services also provided the refreshments after the funeral service too. The food provided on the day was excellent to say the least. Well presented and a wide selection that I'm sure would have catered to everyones taste. I would certainly recommend Grahams Funeral Services.
