How the FuneralHomes.co.nz directory is built, sourced, and refreshed. Full transparency.
Every funeral home in our directory is sourced from the Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand (FDANZ) public register. FDANZ is the industry body for licensed funeral directors in New Zealand — being listed there means a funeral home meets FDANZ's professional standards and code of ethics.
We do not add funeral homes from any other source. We do not pay for placement, and funeral homes do not pay us for inclusion.
Ratings shown on profile pages come from Google Reviews, pulled from the Google Places API at build time. We do not generate, edit, or curate ratings ourselves.
A rating is only displayed when:
Funeral homes without a Google Business Profile, or with fewer than 3 reviews, are listed without a rating. We never display a placeholder rating like "4.5 stars" — if you don't see a rating, it's because we don't have verified data.
Funeral cost ranges shown in our guides and FAQ are sourced from:
We refresh these sourced cost ranges annually. Individual funeral homes will quote different prices depending on the service requested — always contact the funeral home directly for a written quote.

Funeral planning sits squarely in Google's Your Money or Your Life (YMYL) category — content where inaccurate information can cause real harm to people in vulnerable circumstances. We hold our content to a stricter standard:
If you're a funeral director and your details are out of date, incorrect, or you would like your listing removed, email help@funeralhomes.co.nz. We respond within 5 business days and apply corrections within 14 days.
If you are a family member and have been directed to information that you believe is inaccurate, please tell us — we treat YMYL accuracy issues as the highest-priority correction queue.
